Sanjit Singh is a professional photographer with over 25 years experience, commissioned by leading companies for his precise attention to detail, exceptional understanding and control of artificial light and usage of aperture. He is recognized in the industry for his ability to effortlessly go back and forth between Analog and Digital Photography.
Sanjit is a self-taught photographer, born and brought up in the Post-Colonial Culture of New Delhi. Post Graduate in Fine Arts, trained at two culturally diverse Art Colleges – Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi and Kalabhavan, Santiniketan, West Bengal. His leaning towards photography began early, when awarded at the ORWO Photo Competition, while still a 2nd year BFA student. Subsequent and more prestigious awards include: the Yuva Mahotsav Award and National Award (AIFACS) twice. Sanjit’s personal work, transcends across an extensive range of genres – art, landscapes, abstract and life realities.
His work has been exhibited at:
Art Heritage, New Delhi; Vadhera Art Gallery, New Delhi; Osho World, New Delhi; AIFACS, New Delhi; Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi; Birla Academy, Kolkatta; Rabindra Bhavan, Santiniketan and Grosvenor Gallery, London.
Sanjit’s work has also been accorded a place of honor – a part of permanent collection at National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi.
Sanjit’s Commercial Photography Folio is large, varied and responsible for his finely honed technical skills, spanning varied spheres: Retail, Corporate, People, Industrial, Institutional (Hospitals, NGO’s, Universities, Schools), Architectural and Fashion.
Sanjit is the only photographer to have been commissioned for complete documentation of the 1000 year old Buddhist Wall Paintings and Murals at Tabo Monastery, Himachal Pradesh, a UNESCO declared World Heritage Site.
Currently he is commissioned by the Centre for Islamic Studies at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Washington D.C for an Architectural Book Project, documenting Mughal Period Jaalis of North India.
